Well, it’s finally here, hope you’re hungry!
The Basics
The Dallas Kosher Chili Cook-Off will be held at Congregation Tiferet Israel at 10909 Hillcrest Rd., Dallas, on Sunday, March 18 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children over 3 years of age. Non-perishable food is collected at the entry booths for distribution through Jewish Family Services (http://www.jfsdallas.org/emergency), an affiliate of the North Texas Food Bank.

A schedule of events is posted on the blog in a separate entry.
Click here to see our location.
Paid entry will be on the north and south sides of the building at the driveway entrances.
Parking
Rain or shine, parking will be available in these locations:
JCC Parking Lot (the free shuttle bus stops near the front door and runs frequently to the cook-off)
Royal Lane Baptist Church (after 12:00 noon only)
Shine only with dry ground: parking will be available on the easement on the east side of Hillcrest, or by the Northaven Trail across Hillcrest (golf carts will bring people across Hillcrest).
Bike Parking is a new concept for us! If you ride your bike and want to lock it up, please choose a location away from high traffic pedestrian spots to allow egress out of the building.
Passenger Loading/Unloading
An area at the entrance will be designated for passenger loading and unloading. Drivers need to stay with the vehicle at all times and then move the vehicle for parking into a permitted parking spot.
Restrooms
Spicy chili + drinks = Chances are great that you’ll need to go sometime while you’re at the cook-off!
When was the last time you attended a festival with thousands and could use a real bathroom, not just a portable outdoor facility?
Tiferet has two sets of bathrooms: one on the north side and one on the south. Either can be accessed by ramp. The south side restroom is recommended for those who need complete ramp access and extra space to maneuver (see below about ramp access).
Ramp Access to the Building
For chili-lovers who need ramp access, we have three entrances to provide entrance to different parts of the building.
To get to the south side restrooms (with more space to maneuver), the office, room 4, or conference room, please enter the building on the south side from the door across from the church’s portable buildings.
To get to Katz Hall, the north side restrooms, you can either enter from the door on the south side of the building closest to Hillcrest Road or from the parking lot, enter from the door between the playground and the building.
First Aid
First aid is available. If the injured is mobile, please enter the building and come to the office.
If not, DKCCO officials are stationed around the grounds with a walkie-talkie for quick action.
Lost & Found
Lost and found for items will be in the conference room just inside the door facing the parking lot.
For a lost child, flag down a DKCCO official who will be stationed around the grounds with a walkie-talkie or come to the office.
Tickets
Tickets are not required for eating chili (for adults). Your wristband allows you unlimited chili
Children’s entry fees include the choice of one hot dog or chicken nuggets (new this year!) along with chili.
Purchase tickets for drinks, other food options, outdoor kids’ activities, and souvenirs at the booths located on the north and south sides of the parking lot.
